Team Ohio- July 26,2105
Today was most definitely bittersweet. It was so sad to come to the end of the summer and prepare to part ways, but yet so encouraging to see how far God has taken these students and where He is going to take them when they all go home. We started our last day by doing our final combined service at Polaris Grace. There was puppets, singing, dancing, and even some student testimonials from the summer. OB alum throughout the years was even able to join the students on stage to sing our final song “I Give You Me.”
Following service, almost every student had the opportunity to head out to lunch with other students and their families. When they all arrived back at the church around 2:00, TK, the director, gave a debriefing session on all the important things to remember and do as the students head home tomorrow. When dinner time arrived, the students dressed up and we headed as a team to Max & Ermas for our final dinner together. Everyone looked great, and we had a wonderful time simply talking and laughing.
To end out the summer as Team Ohio, we sat down and listened to Shawn as he discussed the summer and how we should go home. We did three-fold communion as a team, and we even did a candlelight ceremony to symbolize taking our lights home with us. The evening was filled with smiles, laughs, and tears, and we as Team Ohio are so grateful for the incredible summer we have had.
Thanks for checking in to the blog all summer. We have had such a great summer, and we are so excited for what God has planned for these students.
God is so good, all of the time. Goodnight and goodbye from Team Ohio and Operation Barnabas 2015!!!
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”- Matthew 5:14-16
