…Like, “Welcome to the Family Feud”… Ok – that was a reach, but many parents took their kids to lunch today. So that’s the best I’ve got.
Anyhow, today marked our last Sunday together as a team. They did a fantastic job in ending the tour well and ministering to Northwest Chapel in Dublin, OH. We had a lot of families come out to support the students, and all of the OBers ended up being treated to lunch whether by their own family or with one who offered to bring them along. The team reassembled at 2pm and promptly hit the road for Winona Lake, IN. Once in Indiana, we returned some tour supplies to CE National and took the students to a pool party which allowed leaders to pull them out one-by-one and conduct exit interviews.
Tonight we are staying at Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church and planning to head out by 9am tomorrow. Grace College has also been kind enough to lend us their Rec Center for showers before we leave. Once we arrive in Wheaton, we will begin debriefing sessions as a united OB team (with the Northeast Team). Exit interviews will also wrap up tomorrow so that we can be prepared to dismiss the students to their respective youth groups at Momentum and officially end tour. By this time tomorrow, we will have a new wave of OB alumni in our midst!
Again, pray for these last moments. God can, has and will do things in His time, but we pray to still see breakthroughs and connecting of the dots tomorrow as well. Debriefing brings a range of emotions in and of itself. Sometimes being reunited with the other team and friends made at Orientation can be overwhelming. There is a lot of emotional and social outpouring to come in the next 24 hours. Then they have the emotions and all that comes with Momentum and seeing old friends again. Needless to say, the teams are exhausted from a summer full of ministry, but they still need God’s supernatural strength to sustain them through the coming week. So pray for that strength. God’s not done with this summer yet!
