Operation Barnabas Administrative Leaders Alex McCue and Jeremy Robbins have announced their team names and explain the reasoning behind the choice.

Alex, who is leading Team 123, says “My team name comes from Colossians 1:23–…if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister. (ESV)

In this passage, Paul points his readers to the reality that the gospel is what saves us and sustains us. He goes on in this passage to connect the reality of being steadfast in the gospel to the mission and ministry of those who have heard. My hope is that OB students would not only recognize the necessity of the finished work of Jesus for salvation, but also for the ministry of advancing the gospel in all of creation.”

Jeremy has chosen Team 314, in reference to Philippians 3:14 – “I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. (NLT)

It is because of Christ we are able to pursue God. Christ fills our hearts with righteousness and invites us to a greater calling in our lives. He is the one who sustains us and fuels us in this journey. It is Christ and Christ alone who has saved us and He pushes us towards a holy and righteous lifestyle, and is with us through every step of the race set before us.”

Team 123 and Team 314 will begin their tours with orientation in Lititz, Pennsylvania, and then travel parts of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Ohio and Indiana.
