Today was our last full day of ministry and it was one to truly celebrate about! The students returned from host homes this morning and spent their hour with God and took time to fill out personal evaluations from this summer. These evaluations are a great way for students to think back over this summer and realize what God has done in their lives. After completing these evaluations we spent time in our Discipleship groups. This was another great time of discussing what God is doing in our lives within a small group setting.
Our afternoon was spent at the Linden Clinic which is a medical clinic in Columbus. We were able to encourage the clinic by sealing part of their driveway and cleaning the examination rooms. Our students made such quick work of these manual labor jobs that they went above and beyond and spent time picking up trash along the streets. While they were cleaning the trash we saw many students return with children by their sides! Following a delicious dinner prepared by two workers of the clinic we prepared for our program.
This week the clinic had VBS for the children in the neighborhood and we were able to be a part of the final night. We saw many children and parents come out to see the puppets and hear the gospel presented clearly. Relationships were being built through face painting, sports, the bounce house, and games. Throughout our program it was clear that God was moving and we continued to have fun with our program and allow God to use us. At the end of the night we saw 13 individuals walk from death to life and come to know Christ as their personal Savior!! We rejoice and celebrate at the way that God used us to impact the people in the neighborhood.
As today was our final day of ministry we took time to think back and see the lives that came to know Christ. Throughout our reflection we celebrated as a team that God was able to use us as instruments to see 46 individuals walk from death to life! We do not boast in this for our glory but for the glory of God! God has used Team 314 in much greater ways than we could ever ask or imagine and we are so thankful for that.
Thank you for your continued prayers and we ask that you continue to pray for us as we spend time debriefing with our students and preparing them for going home!
