OBI 7/13 Longest day ever!

OBI 7/13 Longest day ever!

We got up bright and early packed our bags and headed out to our transportation to the jetty port.  One of the vehicles had a flat so Sir Dan had to acquire another one and we were off.  Once on our boat, it was apparent as it backed off that something wasn’t quite right (don’t know what it is about us and boats the last couple days). But true Filipino style, they rigged it so that we could travel over to the other island.  We were...

OBI 7/12 Our Last Day

OBI 7/12 Our Last Day

Friday was our last day on the island and it was met with many mixed emotions.  It has been amazing to be here helping to minister to the needs of these sweet and loving people.  It has been heartbreaking to see the needs of the people and especially the children.  Contrast that with the incredible beauty of the beach, the sunsets and the clear blue ocean that attract the tourists who only think of themselves. We have been blessed to work with...

So West Valley came down to Mario’s where we were and we went about an 8 minute walk further to Faith Village.  We are now about a 3 minute walk to the...

OBI 7/9 The back wall almost finished

Tuesday of our last week here and we began with construction on the final section of the back wall at the Agape School.  We have now got this down to a well oiled machine – mixing concrete by hand, then bucketing it back to the guys who pour it into the form and handing the empty buckets back.  Today, with 71/2 mixes of concrete, we poured the bottom half of the final section of the back wall that we have worked the last two weeks on.  We...

OBI 7/8 Pipe cleaners and Trike ride

Monday morning back to Agape School for construction.  We were met with a welcome surprise as three of the girls got to go up and tutor. Karli, Reba, and Tori all got to spend three hours teaching English to different students.  The rest of us spent our time doing a bucket brigade, yet again moving the rest of the rock pile from the ground floor to the back of the second floor. At 2:45 we met up at the Vista to head off to the public school...
